UK Pilots Arrogated Triumph over British Airlines on Their Holiday Pay
Saturday, September 17th, 2011
UK pilots have led claim on a immense triumph victory when the European Court of Justice (ECJ) passed a rule that the British Airways would now have to base holiday pay on net income not just basic pay.
As said by The British Airline Pilots’ Association (Balpa), this Verdict could greatly affect pilots and cabin crew and this would also cost £50m to the airlines. According to the union, of this total £50m, airlines would have to pay £20 million to pilots and £30 million to cabin crew and other employees. Now the case has been moved to the Supreme Court in UK for the Final Verdict and which was most probably not liable to differ. British Airlines is eagerly waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court.
