Troopers Account 5 Holiday Calamities
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011
Troopers of the State had a hectic Labor Day weekend with five traffic calamities, 206 accidents on the highway road and more than 2,700 offenses and infringement felonious charges. Hattiesburg’s Troop J was comparatively quiet though, with no calamities and 22 accidents, injuring six people. Troop J is also been found to make 147 criminal charges, in which three were for driving under the influence. As per the Mississippi Highway Patrol not any of the accidents on the highway in the Hattiesburg area were viewed as occurred because of the alcohol.
According to Troop J spokesman Cpl. Todd Miller most injuries nurtured in Troop J’s nine- county area were minor, and most of the accidents held because of the weather. The first highway traffic death during the weekend found was that of Charles Raymond of 34 years of Crowder at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
