After 3-Year Slump Tourists Back in Cuba of Cruise Ship

Cruise ship Gemini has got only 220 tourists which have got off the ship and landed on the ground in Havana on Friday. But for the Cuban officials it is signaled the end of a three-year slump in a key sector crippled by a US company’s duty to comply with Washington’s economic embargo.

Cruise line operations were limited by the united blockade and it is been three years practically during the regular business. 220 passengers from 11 countries on the cruise ship had arrived as said by Oliva. This will really boost the tourist and trade environment in the Cuban region.

Tourism is the Cuban second largest source of foreign revenue after cruise tours and medical services were important features until they have not fallen by 89 percent from 2005-2007.

The main cause of the slump or degradation was US Royal Caribbean’s purchase of Spain’s Pullmantur Company and the Holiday Dream cruise ship brought singly more than 15 million dollars.
